Companions Animal Center, formerly Kootenai Humane Society, has been saving the lives of
unwanted, abused, and neglected animals since 1979.
Our No-Kill Philosophy means we never place a time limit on how long cats, dogs, and other pets stay at the Center.
Companions is not a government agency and is not affiliated with any other animal organization.
Companions is a privately funded, 501c3 nonprofit organization.
Companions Animal Center relies on donations to support our adoption, animal rescue, and support programs.

A free outdoor community celebration bringing people together through music, connection, and compassion. Held on Companion’s grounds, the festival will feature several well-known musicians performing throughout the afternoon, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for all ages. Local businesses, nonprofits, and food vendors are invited to participate at no charge, making this a true community-driven event. Admission is completely free for the public because the goal is bigger than one organization, it’s about uniting our community around a shared purpose. Together, we can strengthen the bonds that help our neighbors, organizations, and local businesses grow and thrive. Bellbottoms encouraged!
