• You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt.

• Please obtain landlord approval prior to your visit to CAC.

• Take some time to view our available pets on our Adopt page or stop in for a walk through. 

• If you have decided you'd like to adopt, our adoption counselors will be happy to facilitate a meet and greet.  During this time our CAC adoption counselors will walk you through the adoption process, discuss the pet's needs and may suggest other pets that might fit your lifestyle. A meet and greet does not guarantee adoption. We have the right to refuse adoption.

• Even though you may see an animal on the website or in person, they may already have a pending adoption.

Other things to know...

Pet Meets: We require dog-to-dog meet and greets for any canine siblings. If you plan to adopt the same day, please bring your dog(s) with you.

If you do not bring your dog(s), a 24-hour hold may be placed with a $25 non-refundable deposit. The deposit will be applied toward the adoption if it is completed. After 24 hours, the $25 will be retained as a donation if the adoption is not finalized.

Pet Hold Policy: If the pet you are going to adopt is not quite ready to go home, you can place a $25 non-refundable hold on that pet. As soon as the pet is ready to go home you will be contacted to come in and finish up the adoption process. The $25 deposit will be applied to the adoption fee. Should you change your mind and decide not to complete the adoption, the $25 will be kept as a donation.
